Switch it Up

So you live in the US and you wanna be bold, you wanna be fresh, you wanna be....different? Grab a Fred Perry. Fred Perry became quite popular when Ska music came into play, and then kind of died down just as Ska did [unfortunately because Ska is where it's at]. You don't see too many F.P. folk now and days, especially in the US. Every time I mention it to one of my friends they look at me as if I'm crazy. They love it up in the UK, why so different here? I'm not saying trash all your Ralph Lauren [I've still got mine], just to change things up every once and a while. You won't see in stores too often so if you've got the extra cash and a debit card buy you a couple and save them for that special occasion.

Keep It Classy Keep it Simple: Levi 511's

What's better than a pair of nice straight leg jeans? A pair of skinny straight leg jeans. These jeans aren't just recommended by GQ, but they're recommended by me as well. I happen to own a couple pair of 511's and my favorite by far have to be the soft rigid. I recommend Levis not just because they have a nice fit, but because they're fairly inexpensive and that can be pretty important. I got mine off of eBay for 30 bucks and I couldn't be happier [brand new in case you were wondering]. Levi 511 soft rigid? Two thumbs up.

Ready, Steady, Go! Visit Houston and Enjoy the Show.

If you haven't gotten your tickets already well then I think it's about that time. September 18-20 marks Houston's own, Rockers vs. Mods Hustle Town Rumble, celebrating the love for both scooters and bikes alike. Now I don't drive and I don't drink so what's gonna be there for me to do? Why listen to the music of course! Both Friday and Saturday night come equipped with a large list of band that you just might enjoy. If you love vespas, rockabilly, reggae, ska, and a good time then this is the place to be.

You're Just Too Sloppy Joe!

Well not for me at least. Sometimes you just have to stop worrying about your weight and just eat. I know, I know, no one wants to get fat right? Exactly. But you can't punish yourself by not eating things that you enjoy. Life isn't about being perfectly skinny and unhappy the whole time, it's about being great at being you, no matter what you look like. Now this doesn't mean you go and eat a snickers every half hour, it just means to take a break every once and a while and enjoy yourself. Grab a can and a loaf of bread. You're gonna love this one.

Get This [ALBUM]

Mos Def: Ecstatic

One of the greatest albums I've ever heard. Period. His style is just so nice, so sweet. Just so....Fresh. Some of the things that he says and does seem just so unheard of compared to some of the [lame] artist now and days. I remember seeing the video for Casa Bey for the first time. It was just so different. Now if different is done correctly, then it doesn't take long for different to become great.
Mos Defintently worth the buy. Bright light from a distant star. Miracles don't stop.

Louis Vuitton: Good and Bad

GOOD
Louis Vuitton x Kanye West = sweet stuff for the most part. These are by far my favorites and they just happen to be the only ones I like [just my personal taste]. Unfortunately, I, and most of us normal folk won't be getting these or any of them for that matter due to their 800+ price tag. College livin keeps me on a budget, and these sneakers just don't fit in with it.
BAD
Louis Vuitton x busted cutlass x fondant covered cake = tisk tisk. What in the name of Andrew Zimmerman were these kids thinking? I know LV had nothing to do with this but boy is this wrong. Way wrong.

This That Dirty Money S%!T

Now I don't know about you, but I can't wait for that Last Train To Paris album drop. Diddy's new group Dirty Money consist of himself, Dawn Richards, and Kalenna. Diddy describes Dirty Money as "a look, a sound, a feel, a movement,"and on that note I'd like to say he's pretty accurate. From what I've heard Diddy's parisian experience might be a great idea....or not....or maybe....well I guess we'll just have to wait for September and see.

[English] Class is in Session

18 and young, I decide the best thing for me to do was to go to college. What are my plans in life? Why let me tell you [since you so kindly asked]. ENGLISH. I said it, English. My dream's to teach and I can honestly say that I can't wait. Yea I won't be making much $$ but so what right? It's what's gonna make me happy. Now look up one good time. That's what we schoolin' folk call a book. I know right? Who reads? Well in English 266, I do. This is our textbook for the semester. Pretty thick and pretty good [just like my women]. Fortunately for me, the same stories in this BOOK are the same stories I read in high school [AP English jr/sr year]. I know it may seem foreign, but pick up a book every once and a while. You might just learn something.

JustNorman's First Blog

I'd like to state once more, as if you were unable to read the title, this is my first blog. I'm a baby to the game and at the current I don't have much to discuss. Hopefully with time I'll be able to fulfill your every wishes, submerging you in anything and everything that I love in life. Off to the cosmos we go. I'm gonna catch that quasar.
