Enjoy it While it Last

I tell you this because it is exactly what I'm attempting to do. Luckily enough, I'm not in high school so I still have another two weeks [as well as the rest of this one] before I have to head back up to the university and continue the learning process. Christmas was great, and because my mother still likes me, she continues to buy and wrap presents as if I'm still a 12 year old 
[jokes on you, I'm 7 on the inside]. For the past few days I've been spending all my damn money away like it's no tomorrow, but you know what, I need to treat myself every now and again, it's the holidays, more on that later though. If I'm lucky I won't have to work this weekend and I'll be spending the New Year's with Emil and Christiana in Austin TX, but if not, Kia, tell Phylica and Rohelio to buy another pack a chicken breast cause I'm coming over for dinner.


I'll be seeing you guys in twenty eleven, and as if I don't say this enough, I appreciate all the comments and page views, it means a lot [tears]. Now stop making me cry like a little b***h, go have fun.

Christmas in Harlem

I don't know why I'm getting excited about moving into an apartment considering that I still have another year and a half to stay on campus, but I guess it's never too early to start getting ready for real life. I also decided that it's time to start learning how to cook for real, so I now officially proclaim myself as an at home chef in training. I got myself a notebook and everything, and I'm writing down any and every recipe that I consider worthy of my noting. IT'S OFFICIAL.

Winter break is going good, and I'm happy to be away from the campus for a little while. COLLEGE IS A DRAG. Speaking of winters, Christmas is right around the corner so I should probably go start wrapping some gifts. Hold up, am I even done shopping yet? WHY AM I POSTING THIS SO OFF SCHEDULE? Shouts to STEPHK for blunting the creative process. Got a love them cyber distractions though.

It's called a high rise pancake/German pancake/it's-not-really-a-pancake-but-it's-good-as-hell-though. All you need:


1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
a few pinches of sugar, salt and nutmeg if you've got it 
[less salt more sugar].

preheat the oven to 425 and let the butter melt in an ovenproof skillet. Once melted, remove and add all the other previously mentioned ingredients [whisk them together before hand]. Return it to the oven and let that b***h bake until golden brown.  Remove and serve immediately with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a bit of lemon juice, or if you're me, scratch the lemon and go with honey instead. It's really easy and it makes you look like a boss, so go for it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
 

Toro y Moi

A few weeks ago one of my homegirls made me a mixtape and by doing so, opened up the gates of heaven and officially introduced me to the music of Toro y Moi [as well as a few others]. I've actually heard bits and pieces of his music over the course of the last few years, but for some odd reason I've never actually given him a chance, maybe I just wasn't ready.

Besides Cudi and Yeezy, lately I've been on a lo-fi/chillwave kick that keeps me craving things that I've never really heard before. Almost immediately after hearing his song I downloaded his album and was so happy that I actually decided to do so. His latest stuff seems to be breaking away from that strictly chillwave persona, and even as a new fan I'm actually pretty excited about that. If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend you picking of Causers of This and to also be on the lookout for the new album coming up sometime this February. ALSO, I'm jealous of both his afro and his ability to pull off those dope ass clear frames without coming off like a total douche bag. Playa's got it goin on.

Finals are Done so Here's More Fun Stuff

WOW, so I'm glad that's over. I think I did pretty well, and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to walk away with 3 A's and some B's, so all in all it was a fairly decent semester. Besides reading The Great Gatsby and the chicks and dicks sleepover with Emil, Christiana and the fam, I don't think I have too much planned for the holiday break. We'll see how it all pans out. Anyways, you remember that folder I told you about with all the cool gifs, images and such? Well I also have a folder saved with some of my favorite facebook moments. What can I say, I'm a bit on the nostalgic side.

I had to watch an episode of Misfits to understand her reference, but I saved this anyway because I thought my comment was pretty clever. *Kanye shrug

I got bored again so I decided to go ahead and make another video. I was actually pretty excited for how this one turned out because youtube and vimeo didn't compress the hell out of it like everything else. Maybe they upgraded, maybe I did something different, who knows. And I think I did the dice thing too much....Matter fact, I don't think I did the dice thing enough, that's like my 2nd favorite dance move you know.

Images and Other Things

University finals start on Monday, and even though my schedule isn't particularly hectic I feel as though I need to study hard and ease into the week as lax as possible. A few month ago I created a folder on my laptop labeled "cool gifs" where I keep memorable gifs, photos and other like images. Sometimes I feel like I need to share with you guys so here you go. This is almost like a tumblr post, except nothing like a tumblr at all. Don't get me started on tumblr, it's like bloods and crips, nikon and canon, money and happiness. To stay safe, I'll just leave my opinions out of it, all I do is re-post other people's photos that have been re-posted a hundred times lookin mother fu....HAPPY FINALS.

Pendleton x Opening Ceremony

It's been a while since I've done a lookbook hasn't it? I guess I just get too wrapped up in my own life that I don't really think about everything else that's going on sometimes. Finals are coming up soon so I'm attempting to step my game up and get my priorities in order. Speaking of, wasn't I suppose to do something about Cudi, AND YEEZY? Damn I'm slackin on my post subject matter. We're still cool though right?...Oh we are? Perfect.

But back to what you're here for. Ever since their spring/summer collection of this year, I've become a pretty legit fan of Pendleton x Opening Ceremony. I love how they're able to play with colors and fabrics and churn out outfits that are still quite wearable [sometimes, not all the time]. I only put up a few photos, but there are way more looks to check out right HERE if you're still interested. Matter fact, you have to go to the website and check out some closeups, dude is rocking a SERIOUS eyebrow. I don't mean to be a douche, but they could of fixed that before he stepped in front of the camera. Then again, maybe they were going for that dirty unkept vibe, so we'll just say that for the benefit of the doubt. If it's any consolation, the female is quite the cutie.
 

This is the Life of a Lover

So Theophilus London came to Houston this past weekend. When I tell you that there was no reason for me to be as excited as I was to see another man perform on stage, I say that with complete honesty [but I don't care]. I can't lie though, I WAS PRETTY GAY FOR THEOPHILUS THAT NIGHT. There were some hotties in there too, but on this particular evening I wasn't really out looking for them. That's understandable though right? God I hope so. 

If you're beginning to question my enthusiasm for another man's art form then chances are you're not too familiar with Theophilus' music. My one piece of advise to you young audio lover is to become very, very familiar. His latest mixtape I Want You can be found right HERE if I'm correct, and if you like what you hear then I leave it up to you to download the other previous mixtapes. As of yet there's been little to no word on an official album release, but hopefully it's in the works as we speak. Enjoy.

The best piece of advice I have ever gotten from GQ ever. Some time ago they did an article on eyeglass frames, and as a man of limited sight I had to give it a read. Long story short, they informed me of an online boutique that offers quality eyeglass frames and lenses for the rock bottom price of 95 dollars. Is this real life? I go to the website and boom, I'm ready to buy a pair on the spot, no questions. Of course I don't operate like that so zoom ahead nine months and now I'm officially ready to invest. Colton Whiskey Tortoise. YESS. Ultimately I wanted a cool pair of glasses that would set me apart from the rest of the pack 
[as if I need anymore space]. I've gotten a lot of good compliments since their arrival and so far I've been pretty well received. It's awesome because no matter what I'm wearing the frames just take me to a whole nother level, and you can't get any better than that can you?

Please excuse the pedo stache. It looks fuller in real life I promise.
