Remix Remix One

Ok, I think we're gonna give a go at this stability thing one more time. You may or may not remember, but I tried this once before with 2 reasons to not hate white people. It's not that it was a fail, it was just that I became uninterested, and when I don't care then chances are you feel the same way. MOVING ON.

I have a pretty extensive music collection and I'd even like to say that I'm somewhat of a connoisseur in this type of biznazz. That considered, I love it  when the underground rises and creates remixes from songs by some of my favorite bands. And that folks, is what REMIX REMIX is all about.

First up to bat is my new fav as of late, Local Natives. I actually didn't know about them until I heard the remix of Wide Eyes about a month ago. Afterwords, I IMMEDIATELY looked them up, and soon enough, I had the whole album. In this case, I'm leaning more towards the Fool's Gold remix but I'm still pretty fond of the original.  OH, and if you do get the album [Gorilla Manor], I highly suggest Cubism Dream. Melts my soul.

Red Freckles and Graffiti

Two things I Love. As if you didn't know, my girl Lohan decided that she wanted to pose for Complex before she went into the slammer. I think it's pretty unfortunate that her life's hit rock bottom, considering that I remember the years when she was in her heyday [ I've seen The Parent Trap at least 6 times]. Luckily, she doesn't look half bad in the photos. The wardrobe could be a little better, and I have a feeling that run in her stocking wasn't meant to be there, but as a man with the manliest of manly qualities, her clothing is the least of my concerns. Hope all goes well.






BREAKING NEWS: It's my 100th post. I know, get excited. Honestly, I knew I'd be going this long. I've never really had plans of quitting or starting over but still, I consider this an accomplishment. Thanks for listening.

I Thought I had Great Friends but Now I Know

So this previous weekend was one of the best that I've had all summer. It was my homegirls birthday so naturally I had to show up at her house for the weekend. We went to an overpriced spot called Americas and spent the rest of the night swapping stories and NOT sleeping. The next day we showed our faces at the mall and as usual I had a bomb ass time. Please excuse the number of photos, I get kind a excited.

I walked into this weekend only knowing like 2 people but came out the end with who knows how many more. I love my friends, both old and new.

Oh yea. Quick tip to pick up the ladies: They love men who sleep in sleep suits. That elastic band really does it for them.

The Only Way to Propose to a Woman

The only way this could be any cooler is if he would of done it himself. I may not be the biggest fan of this style of graffiti but dude used great paint and the message was awesome so that really doesn't matter. I could of cried when the kids stepped in.

SIDE NOTE: This is Houston graffiti! That means if I look hard enough I'll be able to find it somewhere. Honestly, I gotta love it. Our subcultures don't get enough love around these parts. The artist is ACK! so if your interested, right HERE.

M.I.A: Steppin Up

So I think we all knew that this was coming. To be very honest, I've been waiting for her to drop something new for about 3 years now, so to say the least I'm kind a excited. When Kala first came out I bought it on a whim, which I something that I RARELY ever do. Little did I know, I had stricken gold, but at this time none of my friends wanted to hear what I had to say about her. Later on I bought her previous album, which was also golden but still, no one I knew cared about her. Soon enough Pineapple Express comes out, bing bang boom everybody's on her D, she's a superstar. WE'VE ALL STRICKEN GOLD.

Unlike the usual M.I.A, MAYA features a lot of hard, heavy hitting songs--WHICH I LOVE. It's pretty obvious that she's got a major dub-step influence so I think it's bomb that she's slowly gaining a little more hardcore street cred. Even though she gets pretty political, as usual taking stabs at the internet and the government, she gets pretty poppy. Wait, is she talking about tequila? Is that a reggae song? Yes it is. While I haven't listened to the whole album as of yet, I'm pretty excited to see what else Sri Lanka's finest has brought to the table.

Style is the Goal

So It seems like everyone in Europe's wearing their coolest outfits in hopes of getting their picture taken by some dude sent to Milan for the 2011 collections coverage.GOOD THINKING. I'm guessing there's cameramen everywhere so any Jo blow with a nice looking set up can get that picture taken. There were about 177 photos [GQ.com], most of them being Euro douche bags with bicycles and iPads [ironic?]. Fortunately I was able to scrounge up a few that I figured were genuinely cool enough for me to share. Except for FIFA, I think I'm beginning to like the European.

Panama: Rules to Live by

So I waited as long as possible to get the photos but to no avail. I guess we'll just have to do without for now. However, I still want to tell you about a few things that I came across while I was there. I've decided to create a list of things I've learned and observed just so you'll know how it is and how it all went down. Number 1....

1. Besides the foliage, the women are the most beautiful thing there

2. Never underestimate a 3 dollar haircut. You'd be surprised
3. Why are there so many yellow cars? Everyone's a taxi driver
4. Who needs an xbox when you've got 2 feet and a ball
5. The police never look afraid to kill you
6. Ceviche will change your life
7. 6 Mango's for a dollar? Yes please
8. Nothing makes my heart flutter more than a pretty girl speaking broken english
9. Never play soccer in your favorite shirt. It just ends up getting ruined

12. Apparently hisses and whistles are the way to a woman's heart. Who would of thought
